What is AAWLA?

The Anne Arundel Women’s Lacrosse Association (AAWLA) is a nonprofit, community organization. We currently operate leagues in the fall, winter, & summer seasons. In addition to our leagues, we also sponsor travel opportunities to programs such as the Vail Shootout. Our programs are noted for being well organized and providing a comfortable atmosphere that promotes the learning and enjoyment of women’s lacrosse. To become better lacrosse players one needs to practice and to take advantage of meaningful playing opportunities. We offer these opportunities at a reasonable price to benefit our local lacrosse community.

What Programs Does AAWLA Offer?

Our Summerball, Fallball, and Winterball leagues are our primary programs. For six to seven weeks each season, the girls play one hour a week in 7v7 or 5v5 “full field” games. Instruction is the focus of these games. Our referees and instructors are some of the most experienced coaches and former players in the area. Referees will stop play to give instruction on specific situations as they arise during the games. We have found this format to be an excellent opportunity for the girls to grow by getting frequent touches on the ball in game situations, together with specific situational training.
